PSA about Oklahoma's national Representatives.

IT IS NOW ON IT'S WAY TO THE PRESIDENT'S DESK!
After a compromise was made in the Senate it passed there without any no votes and when it went back to the house for confirmation Rep. Tom Cole and Rep. Dan Boren voted yes while the others did not find it necessary to even vote on the issue. Disgraceful but I'm just happy it passed and we have a couple of honorable representatives.

UPDATE: I called Dr. Coburn's office and they informed me that he will be voting no because of a recent court settlement that was reached that was reached (for more info click here) which would give those that filed suit $725 million to split. It is important to remember that not ever person filed suit and a lot of that money goes to paying huge legal fees. This $725 million is way less than the $7.4 billion dollar bill that is going through Congress right now. The settlement is paid for by American tax dollars and the bill is paid for by closing a tax loophole on foreign business. Dr. Coburn does not believe our heroes deserve the money they need to pay their medical bills and instead is contempt on giving them less than what they need in order to protect foreign businesses. Dr. Coburn I urge you to do the right thing and if not I urge Oklahomans to stop supporting him and make it clear to him that he is not a person we want representing us. Remember, his vote is our vote.

UPDATE 2: I called Senator Inhofe's office and they informed me he was voting no because he believed that the programs already in place were sufficient. Really Senator? The problem is just in everyone's imagination then?

I think everyone has the right to be informed just which Oklahoma representatives voted to help the heroes of 9/11 by passing HR-847 and those who thought it was in the better interest of the country that we do not provide these heroes with the much needed medical care that is necessary because of their heroics.

First let me explain what HR-847 is and why it is necessary. Due to the quality of the air and the overall terrible conditions that faced first responders to ground zero many are having serious medical conditions. Cancer is a huge problem along with other terrible conditions. These men and women cannot afford their health care and while they are sick they cannot work to pay for it at all. Workers comp isn't covering most of it because they claim that they can't prove it has to do with their jobs. HR-847 does the right thing and helps these men and women out providing them with the much needed health care, protecting those who protected us.

Those who stood up to do the right thing are my representative Rep.Tom Cole (one of only 17 brave republicans to cross party lines to do the right thing) and Congressman Dan Boren our lone Democrat. These are good people, people that understand that they need to do the right thing before they even think about re-election.

Those who voted no are Frank Lucas and John Sullivan. These are bad people, very bad people. People who put themselves before their country and before doing what is morally right. These people have no respect from me and deserve no respect from you. If there is any justice in this world they will be held accounted for their actions.

Our great and wonderful Governor-elect Mary Fallin thought that campaigning to help herself advance in the political world was more important that doing the job she was elected to do, was more imported that helping the heroes of 9/11. She abstained.

Frank Lucas, John Sullivan, and Mary Fallin, what you did is a disgrace. You disgraced your position as United States Representatives, you disgraced our state, you disgraced our country, but most importantly you disgraced the men and women that put their lives on the line for our country. This time they needed help and you spit in their faces.

Both Tom Coburn and Jim Inhofe voted against bringing this bill to the Senate floor, against even looking at it. This will be brought up again senators. Do the right thing.

Men and Women from Oklahoma that read this, be outraged by this news. A majority of our national representatives voted against providing 9/11 first responders their much needed health care. This is a clear cut situation, there is not grey area. Passing this is morally right. These men and women helped us in our time of need and it's our turn to return the favor. Be outrage, don't let this stand. They cannot take back these votes. Votes against this bill should equal your vote for somebody else in 2012. They don't deserve their job, they don't deserve your vote.

I know I am late in saying all this. This vote was on September 29 and it is now almost two months passed that date. I thought that after the election people would think rationally and this would easily pass through the Senate. I was wrong. Our two Senators voted to not even bring it to the floor. Why? I honestly don't know. I don't know what could be more important that hearing and passing this bill. It's really, really hard to think of anything. Be outraged this is happening America. Be outrage and do not ever vote for these people nor contribute to their campaigns because these are evil people. That is the truth, these actions make them evil.

I'll leave you with and interview Jon Stewart did with four first responders to the September 11 terrorist attacks to our country. These are real people he interviews with real stories. I urge you to watch it. Watch the full interview here.

Edit #1: Added the second paragraph for clarification on the bill.

  1. Well I'm going to call now! This is screwy... I can't see why not. If they say it's about the money than what about al the fluff we spend on... We won't help those heroes...
